Workplace Safety Procedures
What are safety procedures? Why are safety procedures important?
Safety procedures are generated by federal OSHA to give direction and allow employers and employees in general industry to work in a safe environment and manner, thereby reducing and or eliminating the potential for injury in the workplace. An example of a safety procedure would be energy control or lockout/tagout 29CFR1910.147. Employers by adopting this safety procedure, which includes employee training, equipment audits and installation of energy control devices greatly reduces the potential for employee injury. As with all applicable safety procedures the same result is seen if these proven safety procedures are properly implemented and maintained.
